Well, somebody's gotta do something. What worries me, Jake, is that the shit is hitting the fan when one administration has one foot out the door and the next has one foot in. One crew's made up of short timers ( And we vets know how that goes, huh? ) The other's comprised of folks who are busy selling their homes and wondering which schools their kids are going to attend in the greater D.C. area.

Remind you of 1932-33?

Someone is doing something. There are millions of us "doing" what we do all the time. The problem is that there are a bunch of people in Washington who have all the wrong incentives to fix a capitalist economy. They measure themselves on votes. We measure ourselves on wealth creation. They will destroy wealth in order to get elected. It happens all the time.

Yes it reminds me of '33. The time when Roosevelt turned a market collapse into a twelve year depression. When in six years of experimentation the economy was worse than when he started.

I don't suspect that Obama can do that much damage. But expecting his administration to "fix" anything is the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result).

Just look at TARP. You need no more evidence.

If I measured myself by wealth creation I'd be a small man indeed. I made a good salary as an ad agency creative director, but when I left that business to work ( for a lot less $ ) with the mentally ill, I felt better about myself. Different strokes and all that. Whatever floats your boat.
