Campaign Anecdote

Today I spoke with a colleague about the presidential race. Last week during lunch this forty something, conservative, evangelical Christian told me he was "interested" in Huckabee. This morning he said he'd never vote for the guy and was now "in the Romney camp".

What happened? Two things. The "Jesus and the Devil' remark about Mormons. That really enraged my friend. And the "Christian Leader" ad.

This fellow is a committed Christian, who thinks Huckabee's remarks were distinctly unChristian. He is a thoughtful guy who thinks religion has its place and politics has its place. But he also thinks being a good person has its place.

He called Huckabees remarks "passive/aggressive crap". Can't say I disagree.
