The First Post MSM Election

Hugh Hewitt believes we are experiencing the first post-spin, post-MSM election.

Frankly, I thought the last one was. Remember all the failed attempts by the media to push Kerry over the top? The most egregious effort at generating an October surprise was the pre-election reporting that Bush had "lost" tons of high explosives in Iraq. It was amazingly lame.

The transition to more distributed media is incremental, really. With each new election, the MSM is less and less influential. Suddenly we will wake up one day and realize that newspapers and network television have no influence at all. That will be a good day.
