All True, But...

In an internet world, the people who hire writers will have an increasingly broader choice of content distribution options. As such, the writer's union will certainly be challenged by more and more "content creators" coming into their space. This will only weaken the union.

So although they have a good case against the distributors today, striking will probably only prove to accelerate the decline of the union and speed the transition to new digitally based distribution models. Unintended consequences, for sure.
